Text While Driving - It Can Wait
Over 100,000 crashes per year involve texting drivers. Call For Action encourages all consumers to refrain from texting while driving.
Studies show drivers who text are 23 times more likely to have an accident. Many states have taken action and made texting behind the wheel illegal. CFA supports efforts such as AT&T’s “It Can Wait” Campaign and the Department of Transportation’s distraction.govsite. Both are dedicated to providing facts on distracted driving and raising awareness about the dangers of texting while driving.
“Distracted driving is an epidemic on our roadways, and we need people all across America to take action in their communities to help put a stop to it,” said U.S. Secretary of Transportation Ray LaHood.
The “It Can Wait” campaign asks all drivers to take the pledge not to text on September 19th, an effort to drive awareness on the issue across the country.
